I wanted to share with you guys a new product or products that I have just been using for a few days now. I have heard great things about this product and wanted to try it out. It's "Make Up Forever"'s High Definition Foundation.
So when I went to Sephora looking for the foundation, my only intention was to buy the foundation and the foundation only. Of course we all know that plans don't always stick and when you are in Sephora you want to buy everything!...right? ;)
They actually have a really good package deal for a pretty darn good cost. It's Make Up Forever's HD Complexion Starter Kit for $79, which includes the foundation itself, which is $40 alone. It also comes with a high definition face primer, a high definition powder and a Kabuki brush.
If you go in looking for it, this is what the box kit looks like.
and these are the products! Yaaaay!
The FACE PRIMER works pretty well. If you choose to wear a face primer (I don't all the time) apply the primer after your moisturizer and before you apply your foundation. The only other primer that I have used is the face primer from MAC, which I love. I'm not too sure which one I like more yet. I went without using a primer for a while so it's not fresh in my mind. But it does have a very soothing feel to it and really does help enhance the long lasting wear of your make up.
I really like the FOUNDATION. It comes with a little pump, and that's great because I feel like it minimizes waste of the foundation. It's really lightweight so it doesn't feel or look like you have a ton of make up on, which is a total thumps up! It is a full coverage foundation, but it feels very light. The couple of times that I have used it, I only used 1 pump of the foundation and it covers my whole face. The first time I tried it on I used my fingers....the 2nd time I used it I used a stippling brush. I didn't see too much of a big difference in the two. Maybe if you want a more dramatic look for going out or a party, you can try 2 pumps for even more coverage. :)
The POWDER is a micro finish powder. It doesn't give off a color or anything. It's more for just setting your foundation. It also eliminates that sticky feeling after foundation, instead, it feels very silky and smooth. (awesome possum!) I LOVE IT! So maybe if you have trouble keeping your foundation on all day or if you are going somewhere and don't want to be constantly touching up your face, the powder might be a good choice for you. I wear it to work and I work in a food environment and at the end of the day I think my face make up still looks pretty darn good. :)
The Kabuki BRUSH is fabulous. It's nylon fiber and feels AH-mazing. I use the Kabuki brush to apply the powder. Or you could use the brush for any other powders. It's just cool that it comes in the kit because alone, brushes can run up to $40.
I really don't know the difference between a regular face powder brush and a Kabuki brush to be honest. I don't even know if there is a difference. But the Kabuki brush is super cute because it's itty bitty. :) And it's a plus that it works really well!
So with everything that this kit comes with, I think it's a really awesome deal. I don't know how long they are going to have this kit so if you are interested in Make Up Forever, I definitely recommend that you go get this kit. I got this kit maybe 4 or 5 days ago so I'm sure they will still have it. It will give you some of the basic products that you will need to apply your face make up.
My lighting totally sucked but you can see that it's a very natural feel. It doesn't look like I packed layers and layers of make up on but I have enough to even out my skin tone without too much application. I just wore this natural, nude look to work. It's definitely very much an "every day" look. The blush I am wearing is a light pinky, shimmery color from MAC called "Gentle." It's my favorite right now. And for my lips I just did a pinky/nude lip liner from Victoria's Secret that I also bought on sale in a kit. I don't know what the color is called but I LA LA LOVE it! I just went over my lips with that liner and topped it off with a pinky gloss. :)
If you guys have any questions or comments, suggestions... feel free to leave them below. The only way to really see what make up works best for you is to try different ones until you find one you like and feel is compatible for you. As far as I'm concerned, Make Up Forever is a very great quality brand make up. I, myself, am just starting to explore with different brands, (I usually just wear MAC) and although I do get nervous, finding products like these are what makes it totally worth it.
Have a fabulous day! Be positive and start off your new year with nothing but positive vibes. Thank you for stopping by and checking this blog out.

Have you found anything that works well for the dark purple lines under eyes? I am very fair skinned.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah. HAve you by chance found anything for under your eyes?
DeleteHi Sarah. I haven't actually looked for a product specifically for that, but I remmeber being in Sephora looking around and took a quick look at some concealer pallets...I remember asking one of the girls what the different pallets were for and what they cover up. I do recall one of the pallets canceling out redness/purple...I'm sorry I don't remember what line makes it. It could very well be Make Up Forever. Next time I make a trip there I will double check! :)
ReplyDeleteSorry if I wasn't much help. But I do know for sure that they have concealers for that.
Hi Sarah.
ReplyDeleteYou may want to try a more yellow concealer...yellow is suppose to cancle out purple. I'm still kind of looking around for a concealer that I really like. Good luck! If I find anything I will send it your way. :)
